New Opossum Creek Bridge Ribbon Cutting

Nowata County District 3 Commissioner Tim Kilpatrick would like to invite the public to a ribbon cutting ceremony at Bridge #24 over Opossum Creek on December 22, 2014 at 9:30am. The bridge is located on NS413 (Old Highway 169), 3.2 miles South of the Kansas/ Oklahoma line.


The project was designed by Guy Engineering Services, Tulsa, OK. The project consisted of replacing the existing 122 foot long, truss bridge, which was structurally deficient and fracture critical and improving the roadway approaches. The new bridge is 32 foot wide, 182 feet long, three span pre-stressed concrete beam bridge.


The project was constructed by Belk Bridge, Inc. from Broken Arrow, OK. The new bridge cost $1,512,00.00 to construct and was funded with County Improvements for Roads and Bridges funds (state), and local County funds.
