Faith & Finances Class/First United Methodist Church of Nowata
May 25, 2018 @ 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
|This class is designed to empower people who wish to see God’s power and restoration in their lives. Humans are familiar with the brokenness that comes from life. God has designed a way to live that actually restores us to fullness. This is tied to our relationship with money. Many folks are living paycheck to paycheck, or government check to government check, without the tools to grow in stability. This class is designed to help folks get ahead in their finances, so that eventually they are able to provide not only for themselves, but for others. Nowata has a lot of folks struggling to get by. This course is here to help. There are also a lot of folks who want to have tools for God’s fullness and reconciliation in their lives and the lives of loved ones. This course is for you. It is open to the entire community. You don’t need to be a Christian to join us. Just bring an open mind and a teachable spirit. We will do our best to equip you!
This begins with a shared meal at 5:30pm. This is important time for getting comfortable with one another. You won’t be able to participate effectively in the group if you don’t eat with us. Actually knowing one another is key to being able to help one another. Children are welcome to eat with us. At 7:00pm we will transition into the learning time for an hour. We will try to end by 8:00pm. This is a weekly course, but if someone can’t make the first night, they will need to wait until the next course begins. Every week folks should plan on leaving by 8:15pm. Childcare is provided, as is the food.
We ask for $10 for the cost of the participant book. Additional money will be asked for the cost of covering childcare, but we aren’t going to ask something folks can’t give. It’s a class to help broke people, after all.
